Position Specific Description
Under direct supervision, this job applies diversified knowledge of engineering principles and practices to broad variety of assignments and related fields. Acts as a single point of contact for projects for the department. Develops knowledge and skills within a specific practice area. Evaluates, selects, and applies standard techniques, procedures, and criteria to perform a task or sequence of tasks for conventional projects with few complex features. Collaboratively uses judgment to determine adaptations in methods for non-routine aspects of assignments. Works on small projects or portions of larger projects. Supports development of standards and engineering guidelines, conducts analysis on system performance and reliability strategy and provides recommendations. Candidates must have cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher to be considered
Some of the responsibilities for our engineering internships are listed below:
Support the development of an equipment condition assessment tracking and risk management procedure
Apply knowledge to real world operating failure modes experienced in the fleet
Piping and Instrumentation Drawing reviews and updates
Support the validation of daily operating procedures
Participate in daily activities associated with the safe and reliable operation of the plant (including such items as: preventative maintenance routines, startup and shutdown activities)
Acquire knowledge of a combined cycle system operations through team interaction and self-directed research
Work activities may include such items as preparation of reports, calculations, specifications and scope documents as well as generating sketches and drawings in AutoCad format
Intern will work with the equipment on how to analyze and troubleshoot equipment problems
Conduct field walk-downs and mark-up as build documentation
Electrical or Mechanical Engineers
Freshman and sophomore students preferred (Those graduating with their bachelor degree Dec. 2020 or later).
MUST be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident
Job Overview
Employees in the role will be provided mentoring and practical hands on experience for relevant career-related activities encountered in the student's area of study or specialization. To be considered for this position the applicant must be actively enrolled at a college or university as a full-time student seeking a bachelor's degree or higher. Candidate must also have a current GPA of 3.00 or higher (on a 0.00 to 4.00 scale).

Completes challenging projects and assignments
Presents final project to senior leadership at the end of the internship
Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
